So many elements come together to make a finished room.  Certainly furnishings are a main factor, but let’s consider the architectural elements of the room as well.  The floors are a good place to start.  They can be wood (what species, what stain?) or tile (ceramic, natural stone or marble?).  Will your walls be painted, wallpapered or paneled?  The window choices are endless and how you treat the fireplace or built-in cabinetry can completely define the style of a room.

Animal prints are still a favorite choice for carpet.  There are more styles than ever!

Animal print carpets are a great design element because they’re so versatile. They may become a room’s backdrop or a statement piece. Styles range from casual to formal, modern to traditional. There is a carpet out there for every situation.

Adaptive Reuse of Hallway Space

When our clients bought a new house in Dallas, the previous owners had built in desks in the upstairs hallway for their children.  A wonderful idea for them – but for our clients, this was an unnecessary use of space!

Our solution – to redesign the space for a windowseat instead of desks.  The contractor was able to build it according to our measurements with useful storage underneath.  We added a thick cushion and throw pillows to create a warm and inviting space to curl up with a book.
