To Flange or Not To Flange Your Pillow?
May 29, 2013 | Posted by: Carol Hamilton

Adding a flange to your pillows is a pretty alternative to brush fringe, plain cord,  or tassel trim.  It can be as big or small as you want it to be, as long as it is proportionate to the size of the pillow.
We tend to do 1.5″ to 2.5″ mitered flange pillows, but they can be gathered or pleated if you want an even dressier look.

Bedrooms particularly are well-suited for flanges, since it is a soft treatment.  And lumbar pillows in a chair are perfect candidates as well.

Here are some of our most recent examples.

The embroidery on this fabric was used on the flange to really make these pillows special!

These fun pillows for a girl’s bedroom show a contrast lime green flange.

This bed pillow and lumbar pillow both show how a contrast flange can make a patterned fabric pop!

This bolster pillow has a tiny flange on the edges – subtle and pretty!

These are some of our favorite flange pillows. The fabric is so beautiful, we decided to compliment it with this solid textured flange and contrast cord.
