Creating Closet Space

Renovating a house built in 1807 to accommodate the needs of a modern family is a design and architectural challenge.  Of course – modern kitchens, bathrooms, casual family rooms, and even closets did not exist when originally built.  Carving out these spaces (and often undoing years of poorly attempted work by previous owners) takes equal doses of creativity and practicality.

A Red, White & Blue “Big Boy” Bedroom

Happy Fourth of July!

It’s always a treat when I have the opportunity to design a child’s room.  And, what better room to show you on the Fourth of July than this red, white and blue bedroom I designed for my client’s son.

I used crisp white washable bedding, whimsical star wallpaper and a Paddington Bear print fabric to add as much personality to the room as it’s three year old occupant!

You’re never too young to have a Pulliam Morris bedroom!  He is sure to love his new “Big Boy” room as much as we do!

Combining Form and Function

As interior designers, our job (and our talent, I suppose), is to envision a space transformed.  With new construction the task becomes creating the space from scratch.  This is more than decorating.  Both renovation and new construction require our ability to draw upon our mental inventory of materials as well as knowledge of design elements, all coming together in our minds.  This is what we present to our clients.
