Project Highlight – French Country Meets Casual Elegance – Part 1
January 22, 2013 | Posted by: Linda Perrow

The first step in building a new home is to brainstorm concepts, inspiration, and discern the clients’ taste. This process, which can take many months, begins with space planning and ends with the final installation of furnishings.

Two and half years ago, I began meeting with this couple about their new home in Lexington. As the concept evolved, they expressed to me an interest in French Country details, an open floor plan, and comfortable yet sophisticated furnishings. Each room was very well planned and thought out to suit this family’s lifestyle.

Custom lanterns and decorative shutters were important details to the overall look.

Located adjacent to the entrance hall, the warm dining room invites guests further into the home.

The living room color scheme was inspired by the portrait of the clients’ sons. Incorporating soft blue, her favorite color, throughout the home unifies all the different rooms.

The living room opens into the spacious kitchen.

As someone who enjoys entertaining, I worked with my client to make the kitchen not only functional, but beautiful. The double pendant provides plenty of light, while the bar stools add French Country charm.
