When we go to market in Atlanta, we also take a few days to go to our favorite showrooms at ADAC (Atlanta Decorative Arts Center). This is where many of the fabric, wallpaper, furniture and rug showrooms are permanently located.
While we are here we take the time to peruse the various showrooms, always updating our resource library. Samples are also gathered for specific projects, including items such as oriental rugs or custom wallpaper panels. These items are often the beginning pieces for a client with a new project.
These showrooms are always a source of inspiration and last week was no exception. In conjunction with market, “ADAC in Bloom”, was in full swing. Showrooms were full of beautiful flower displays and guest speakers discussed all aspects of floral design. One such speaker was Carleton Varney, seen here in his trademark floral tie. Known for his elaborate patterned materials (he worked for the infamous Dorothy Draper), it was a pleasant suprise to meet him and to hear him speak.
