A Happy Beach Place – Expanding for a Growing Family

My clients decided to update their beach house sitting room for their expanding family by adding a new bathroom off this room and a sofa bed for their grandchildren to sleep.  Painting the stained walls and cabinets along with the lively new color scheme changed the look of the room.  We covered the sofa in Sunbrella fabric so that it will withstand the fun times their grandbabies will have in this room.  It’s a happy space to be in now!

Sitting Room Pic

The French doors were moved over to accommodate the door to the new bath.  The wainscoting ties in with the painted wood panelled walls in the sitting room.

An Encounter With Charlotte Moss

What a pleasure it was to meet the New York designer, Charlotte Moss recently. Stark Carpet showroom in Charlotte, North Carolina hosted a Spring Event to introduce Charlotte Moss’ new Passport Rug collection.

These beautiful wool rugs are a great beginning point for the design of any room.

Tulips Are In Bloom…And So Is This Bedroom

Spring is here in full force – flowers and trees are blooming everywhere!

This “Pink Impression” tulip brightened my desk at work this week.

Recently while working on a scheme for a client’s guest bedroom, she suggested that we use pink and aqua to create a soft and lovely ambiance. With the embroidered florals that we chose, it will be springtime year-round in this bedroom!

We selected the floral pattern for bed pillows (bottom left), the aqua and white pattern for a chair (top left), and the solid aqua for windowseat pillows (bottom right).

This pink linen damask (top right) was the initial selection for the scheme. The multi-color patterns, like this one on the bench (bottom), tie together the pink and aqua in the room.

Happy Spring!
