What’s In Your Closet?

While restoring a late 1700s house in downtown Charleston, we came across a common problem but found a unique solution.

One of the bedrooms did not have easy access to a bathroom for their overnight guests – not particularly convenient!  We worked with their architect, Glenn Keyes, and came up with the perfect idea to help solve this problem.  A “bath closet.”

What’s In Your Backyard?

This was my garage.  You know the kind.  The ones that have never held a car – only the junk that accumulates (and multiplies) over time.  Boxes of nothing important.  Poorly organized yard equipment and a variety of weekend warrior supplies.  Always daydreaming, always in search of another never-to-be-completed project, I would stare at the beamed ceiling, old brick walls, proximity to the patio and think…this space was way too cool to waste on paint cans.

What Color White Do I Paint My Trim??

That is a question I am always asked!  I have a few standbys that I always seem to use.  Of course, it all depends on the room, the light and whether it needs to go with existing fabrics or wallpapers.  I usually gravitate to warm white colors.  They seem to go with everything and are not too stark.
