A Bathroom Remodel
January 10, 2014 | Posted by: Pam Plowden Rawson, ASID

In a recent bath remodel, I opted for a floating counter instead of the expected vanity.  The necessary wing wall provided some great opportunities to add interesting design features.  The wall provided a little privacy for the toilet as well as as place for sculptural side wall sconces and a glass tile accent wall.  A slated shelf below is a great space for folded towels or a rustic basket for storage.

Bronze fixtures, exotic granite, glass mosaic tile and metallic wallpaper, all in earth tones, came together to create a completely new space.  The result became a tailored, modern and rustic but sophisticated guest bath.

There was nothing to salvage from the existing bathroom.
