The kids are all grown up and have moved out of the house; the piano hasn’t been touched in years; twenty-five years has flown by - it’s time for a change! We chose to focus on the front of the house first - the living room, dining room and foyer. Removing the wallpaper in the dining room made a big difference in lightening up the home which was important to my clients. Walls were painted, the powder room received a facelift, lights were replaced with updated fixtures – installation day was busy. The electricians, plumbers and installers were coming and going, in and out of the house for hours. The transformation was amazing when our clients came home from a long day at work.
Most designers are visual people and can easily “see” what a room will look like with the selections chosen long before installation day . To help visualize what our clients were selecting we put together this visual design board showing furniture and fabrics for the living room.
Our installation day was busy with Eddie Boozer and his crew from Boozer Electric hanging all the newly purchased light fixtures and Roger Roberts of Wabbit Plumbing installing the new faucet in the powder room.
With the chandelier installed in the dining room we were ready to clean up and get ready for our client’s arrival. Sometimes there are a few mishaps during an installation - the seeded glass for the chandelier came in shattered. Thankfully, the replacement glass is on the way. Once the chair fabric and artwork are installed, the dining room will be complete.
The living room, now known as the Party Room, is also almost complete – the artwork will be hung once it has been framed, the bunching table ottomans are forthcoming, and family photos will placed in the new frames.
