When decorating, a client will sometimes want us to take it slow, especially when it’s new construction. Some folks just need to wait awhile, live with the room, and see how it feels. I encourage them to notice how the room can change – colors and light in the room can vary depending on the time of day or even the season. Taking your time is not a bad thing.
And so, we leave a room finished for now, possibly never to change because the client feels it’s just right for them. Others call. Ready to change it up or add the last details once they’ve lived with it for a while. Often draperies are just the sort of addition that comes with time.
Here is such a room – lovely in its own right. Light, bright and simple. But when the client was ready for something more, the draperies were added. Modern host and hostess chairs complement the existing seating. In addition, warmth, softness and elegance complete the room.
