A Fresh Take On A Vintage Cottage

FoyerA charming circa 1920′s stone cottage recently became the setting for a client’s new lifestyle.  The cottage has a totally different ambiance than her previous homes and was fun and challenging to transform the vintage cottage into an up-to-date home.

Stained glass windows, hardwood floors and high ceilings were some of the unique features of this home.  The whole house was completely repainted inside and out.  We selected a rich brown for the the fireplace and vaulted beams, and kept the trim and walls neutral.  The color palette for the furnishings included soft blues, neutrals, and yellow/gold tones.

New chandeliers in the living, dining, and breakfast rooms add warmth throughout the house. This one is made of wood and iron and was stunning in person!

A Law Firm Lobby Lacks Light and Life

As an interior designer, every day at work is different - we never know what challenges a project will bring.

Recently we were called upon to help a prestigious South Carolina law firm complete their lobby. They had worked with an architect to convert their warehouse space into an office, however the concrete lobby floor, cool paint colors, and grey, striped commercial carpet tile felt cold and unwelcoming.

Mountain Casual

IMG_6644A tragic victim to left over furniture, dated colors and some really bad Raymond Waites 1990′s wallpaper, this downstairs den was completely wasted on the elderly couple who previously owned this mountain home.  Now the second home for a younger family, the new owners wanted to reserve the upstairs rooms – with large stone fireplace, vaulted wood ceilings and spectacular view – for entertaining.  This presented a great opportunity to create a casual living space below, adding livability and flexibility for the family.
