A Dark Master Bedroom Gets An Airy Update

Before the makeover, the master bedroom was cold and boring.

We recently finished a master bedroom for a client in the Upstate –  twice in the last year, the bathroom on the second level had flooded this main-level master bedroom, and it was in dire need of some attention!

Some pillows our client had found with their green, aqua, and brown embroidery became the starting point for the new scheme. Since the previous scheme was green, we decided to feature the aqua and brown tones in the new room. The coverlet, dustruffle, and other pillow fabrics fell into place easily, but it was a challenge to find a drapery fabric that would pull everything together.

Building a house involves several phases. After working on all the details of the interior elements, the fun part, furnishing the spaces is next. In this stage, the interior really comes together. It’s an exciting process to meet with the client and select the right pieces to complete the project.

Real Life Happens

In light of all the family gatherings over the holidays, I thought this blog from a couple of years ago was a good reminder about the benefits of using outdoor fabrics indoors.  Enjoy!

On a recent project, my clients decided to enclose a screened porch. They wanted a “child friendly” space for their grandchildren.  We decided to use all outdoor fabrics.  These fabrics will stay brighter longer in this sunny room, and they are much easier to clean.
