It’s not often something new comes along that solves a problem that’s a recurring issue with many clients. But like most “new” ideas, it’s really just a twist on something that’s been around a long time. The problem? What should I put at my kitchen sink to save my floors and my back?
Whatever you select tends to take a lot of abuse. If you want color, an old (but not fine) oriental rug gives padding and hides spills-but just too muted for some folks. A neutral option is sea grass or a sisal rug. They fit any decor and are not an investment, but the texture may not a good fit for those who prefer bare feet.
At market I found a small company that has applied new technology to an old product. Vinyl floor cloths have been around for generations. These new ones, which are laser printed, offer a variety of bright color options as well as more “aged” vintage styles. Printed on a padded vinyl, they provide softness and they are wipeable! They would be great under a kitchen table as well.
