“At Home” With A Kitchen Refresh

This kitchen needed to be refreshed.

After consultations with the client, a design plan was made.

Retaining some of the clients favorite design elements (tile floor, wallpaper, and fabric on windows) was part of the plan.

Deciding to paint the existing stained wood cabinets was a key element.

Eliminating the existing fluorescent light above the island was a top priority.

Replacing the bar stools and the hutch beside the table was also on the list.

A new painted sideboard, chandelier, and starburst mirror complete the refreshed breakfast area.

New counter stools with upholstered backs provide an inviting gathering area around the new granite counter top on the island.  Painting the stained cabinets gave the kitchen a bright new look.

The new light fixture updates the work space.

Feeling comfortable and “AT HOME” in one’s own kitchen is critical in good design.

The Ultimate Kitchen

Careful space planning including in-depth discussions on function, placement of appliances, and layout of cabinets and drawers provide the groundwork for a new kitchen work space.

From the ceiling to the floor, every inch is utilized. There is a purpose for every space in this kitchen and breakfast room. In-depth planning is the key to not only a super functional prep and cooking area but also a comfortable breakfast seating area. Thanks to a great collaboration between the clients, expert kitchen designer Sara Evans and Pulliam Morris, this project was carefully designed to be highly functional and beautiful.

1980′s High Style needed to be replaced by a new look.

Keeping the stone fireplace was one element that needed to be incorporated in the renovation.

Decorative glass doors and a wine cooler complete this bar area.

Adding deep drawers increases functionality and organization.

The beveled marble subway size backsplash tile provides detail.

This pull out rack is very convenient .

A spice drawer works well in this island.

Coffee bar area complete with a small sink.

Small appliances can be stored easily.

New dining table and chairs provide comfort.

Raising the ceiling provided the opportunity for taller upper cabinets, therefore making the entire kitchen more spacious.

The result is The Ultimate Kitchen.

Worth the Wait

In our world today we want everything in an instant. But for one client, it was worth the wait. After moving into a new home two years ago, our client was ready to furnish her living room. Up until now, their three young girls used the living room as a dance hall. But now with a few new pieces, the dance hall has been transformed into an elegant living room.
